May 16, 2013: AEMP director Caleb Rossiter recently published an article in Foreign Policy in Focus on the news UN Arms Trade Treaty titled: An Agreement on Arms, With No Teeth.  You can read it here.

Caleb points out that the treaty adds no new barriers to the arms trade, and specifically excludes a proposed ban on providing weapons and training to the armed forces of dictators.  No wonder it's so popular with arms-exporting countries like the United States.

But why is the treaty so popular with human rights and arms control groups?  Please ask them!
